BAMBLETT CEMETERY - EST 1830saka - STOWELL CEMETERYaka - KAI CEMETERY Manchester Township, Boone County, Illinois
Bamblett Cemetery is located 1/2 mile east of Free Church Road [1 1/2 miles from County Line]. The cemetery lies on the south side of a gravel road surrounded by farm land. It is sitauted on a small parcel of land amongst many trees. You must park alongside the road. It is poorly maintained. There is a lot of mold and moss. The Bamlett Family lived near here and several from the Stowell family are buried here so that's the reason for the names. Some of the burial information is from Maud Ward and was taken from the stones. It is in the research from Helen Maxwell Williams who has given ComPortOne permission to post the information. For the names of those buried in the Dullam Cemetery click here. Please be patient - the file is in pdf format. You may have to click it a second time. "The grave sites are scattere, base stones are visitble but the markers are broken or gone. There are 2 stones, evidently home-made, rounded and placed as head and foot stones. A short distance apart - as if foro infants graves - no lettering. Maud Ward was told that there were many more graves but the markers are gone. Many babies were supposed to be buried here. IN 1960, there were many stones piled by the fence, I only saw 1 recently, behind the huge tree, in the weeds. I have added dates from the census and maiden names, when known." H.M.W.
