MOUNT REST CEMETERY - EST

Newport Township, Lake County, Illinois

Mount Rest Cemetery is located 1 mile south of Wisconsin border, 1 mile north of Hwy 173 [Rosecrans Rd], between OLD Route 41 and Hwy 41/I94. Enter from W Edwards Rd behind the Peterbilt building. It is somewhat hidden which makes it a target for vandalism. There were many monuments knocked down that were newer, expensive stones and should not have fallen natuarally. There is a road that runs through the cemetery from W Edwards Rd [stay to your right] and out behind the Peterbilt building.
