OAKDALE CEMETERY - EST

Newport Township, Lake County, Illinois

Oakdale Cemetery is located 1/2 mile west of Hwy 131 on Winthrop Harbor Rd [aka 9th St], about 2 1/2 miles west of Winthrop Habor and 1 mile south of the Wisconsin border. At the time I visited Oakdale Cemetery, the gates were locked so I could not drive into the cemetery. I checked all entrances and they, too, were padlocked with rusty locks. [It makes me wonder how often anyone gets in.] The chain link fence has barbed wire on the top of it so no one would climb over. After much frustration, I found a small gate that I could get through and take some pictures.
